Thea Jean (Kraus) Swenson, 93, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Sun Valley Nine Acres in Oconto.
Born Sept. 1, 1924, she lived in Menominee until marrying Kenneth E. Swenson and they had four daughters Ann, Barbara, Julie and Karn.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, loved being a homemaker and cooked delicious meals with favorites of caramel rolls, lefse and swedish meatballs.
The couple loved anything Scandinavian and took pride in their heritage. They enjoyed time on their sailboat, especially sailing in Lake Michigan and many trips to Door County with family and guests.
She worked at General Telephone Credit Union where she became Manager and moved the Credit Union to the family basement where it was operated for many years. Her husband's job with General Telephone took them from Michigan to Iowa, Nebraska and lastly Illinois.
Upon retirement, they moved to Marinette and had a home in Northland Homes.
She is survived by four daughters, Ann Thomas, Barbara (Ron) Poellein, Julie (Don) Otto and Karn (Jim) McComb; seven grandsons and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Regina Kraus; her husband, Kenneth E. Swenson; three brothers, Michael, Loren and Clarence Kraus; a great-grandson, Timothy Patrick Ramirez and a son-in-law, John Thomas.
Friends may call at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7 from 10 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m.
