Ethel W. (Popp) Martz, 94, of Marinette, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Luther Home.
Born Oct. 12, 1923 in Marinette, to Rudolph and Pearl (Pope) Popp, she
grew up in Crivitz and graduated from Crivitz High School. On Oct. 20, 1945, she married the late Charles Peters and they had two daughters.
She later married the late Arnold Martz on Jan. 29, 1977 and was welcomed into the family by his children.
She loved staying busy and had many hobbies, including baking, rosemaling, crocheting, square dancing and playing bridge and pinochle, but mostly time with family brought her most joy.
A life long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, she served on the Ladies Aid and Sunshine Committees.
She is survived by four children, Carol (Wayne) Emmes, Ken (Nancy) Rosenthal, Stanley Martz and Gerald (Barbara) Martz; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children, Doris Rosenthal, Clarice and John Plouff and Donna Martz and two brothers, David and Elmer Popp.
Friends called at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 7 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens at a later date to be announced. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
