Harold "Swede" Anderson, 84, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Menominee, Mi.
Born Feb. 22, 1934 in Marinette, to the late Harold Sr. and Myrtle (Lundeen) Anderson, he graduated from Stephenson High School and attended Western Michigan University where he played football for the Broncos. On March 3, 1956 he married Audrey Nelson at Bethel Lutheran Church in Menominee and owned and operated Anderson Motor Service and Anderson Milk Transit.
A member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Stephenson, he was a former Council member and past member of Stephenson Fire Department, Stephenson City Council and the North Shore Golf Club.
He enjoyed golfing, skiing, traveling and time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Stephenson; a daughter, Jill (Tom) DeMille of Green Bay; a son, Dave (Crystal) Anderson of Daggett, Mi.; a daughter-in-law, Annie Kuntze of Stephenson, Mi.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Hunter and Nancy Berry and two sister-in-laws, Linda Djupstrom and Twila Beard.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a son, Kevin Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Stephenson from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m., with Pastor Scott Ehle officiating. Burial will be in the Stephenson Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements.
