Robert C. Rasmussen, 88, of the Town of Gibson, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.
Born April 6, 1930 in Mishicot, to the late Charles and Mary Krizek Rasmussen, he graduated from Mishicot High School and married the former Helen Marie Kakes on May 20, 1953 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot.
A supervisor for Larson Canning Co. in Green Bay, they farmed in the Town of Gibson for many years. He served as the Town of Gibson Supervisor, and later served as town chairman for many years.
A member of St. James's Catholic Church in Cooperstown, he also belonged to the Denmark Lion's Club and the Bohemian Lodge in Denmark.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; two brothers, Richard Rasmussen, of Pembine and Charles (Judy) Rasmussen, of Manitowoc; five sisters, Kathleen (Frank) Pietroske of Two Rivers, Darlene Eisenmann and special friend, Pat Remiker of Pembine, Jeanette (Jerome) Korinek of Two Rivers, Jeannie Cabat of Oshkosh and Violet Weinberger of Sheboygan; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph (Ruth) Rasmussen, James Rasmussen and Arthur Rasmussen and three brothers-in-law, Harold Cabat, Henry Weinberger and Donald Eisenmann.
Relatives and friends may call at St. James's Catholic Church in Cooperstown on Thursday, April 19 from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. Tom Reynebeau will officiate, assisted by Sr. Gerri Krautkramer, followed by burial in the Parish Cemetery. Lambert Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the family with arrangements.
