Donald R. Wene, 79, of Crivitz, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at home with family by his side from congestive heart failure.
Born Sept. 16, 1938, to the late Louis and Rose (Trkaj) Wene, he was raised in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Boy's Tech.
He worked as an Electrician for several years until starting his own business. He was owner and President of two companies, Refuse Equipment Company and Huge Haul Inc., which he ran with his, wife Georgene and two sons, Marc and Verlin (Vern) Wene.
A member of S.N.P.J. Badger Lodge 584 and The Fun O Leers, he enjoyed cabinet woodworking and building his own home in Crivitz, doing most of the work himself.
He is survived by his wife, Georgene (Wosoba) Wene, Crivitz; a son, Marc (Joyce) Wene, New Berlin; two daughters, Donalynn (John) Schramm and Eileen Schmid, both of Crivitz; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Wene, Fort Wayne, In.; a brother-in-law, Stan Mrotek, Franklin; a daughter-in-law, Diane (Steve) Bartman, Neenah and many other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Verlin Wene; a grandson, Kyle Wene; his in-laws, George Wosoba and Mary (Stupka) Wosoba; two sisters, Mary (Joseph) Pietras and Freida (Edward) Nash; a brother, Joseph (Helen) Wene; two sisters-in-law, Ardyce (Wosoba) Mrotek and Jeanette (Armand) Wene; a niece, Mary (Nash) Lewis and son-in-law, Darryl Schmid.
Family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Crivitz on Friday, April 27 from noon until time of the Mass at 2 p.m. Fr. Donald Burkart will officiate with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Donations can be made to Bellin Cardiac Center, 744 S. Webster Ave, Green Bay, WI 54301 or to a charity of ones choice in his name. Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting the family with arrangements.
