James Anthony Charniak, 46, of Oconto, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Bellin Hospital in Oconto after a hard fought battle with testicular cancer.
Born June 29, 1971 in Green Bay, to James and Peggy (Burkel) Charniak, he married Christine Jenkins on Nov. 5, 1994. A dedicated, loyal and hard working employee, he worked for Richco Structures, Fed Ex Ground, LeTourneau Plastics and most recently Birdseye Dairy.
He enjoyed softball, weight lifting and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, but mostly loved time with family and friends, book sales with Karissa, Tae Kwon Do with Kyle, playing cards with the guys, (Andy, Jesse, Jeff, John and Dave), and golfing with Jason.
An excellent cookie baker and master griller, he enjoyed a great steak, cherry cheesecake and popcorn. He had an upbeat and positive attitude, gave words of encouragement and advice and could put a smile on your face. He gave everything his all and will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Charniak, Oconto; two children, Karissa and Kyle Charniak, Oconto; his father, James (Dorothy) Charniak, Green Bay; two brothers, Christopher (Kim) Charniak, Green Bay and Jason (Kimberly) Charniak, Pittsfield; in-laws, James and Jeanette Jenkins, Oconto; a brother-in-law, Jonathon (Laura) Jenkins, Arizona and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Charniak.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home in Oconto on Saturday, April 28 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 2 p.m., officiated by Kimberly Charniak.
