Garage, Contents and Logging Truck Destroyed in Pillath Fire

An early Tuesday morning May 1 fire destroyed a garage and contents as well as a logging truck on the Kevin Pillath property on Highway 64 and County W. The Grover-Porterfield Fire Department received the call at 12:32 am. They responded with three engines, two tenders, a ladder truck, brush truck and six-wheeler.
When firefighters arrived they found the building and truck fully engulfed in flames. Grover-Porterfield immediately called the Pound Fire Department for assistance and they responded with an engine and crew. A total of 19 firefighter battled the blaze according to Bob Chaltry, Grover-Porterfield Assistant Chief. No injuries were reported, but the building, contents and logging truck were a total loss. The logging truck is owned by Frank's Logging of Peshtigo. Cause of the fire is under investigation by the Grover-Porterfield Fire Dept. Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 3:30 am.
