Thomas C. Heckel, 75, of Peshtigo passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Rennes Health Care Center-East.
Born Jan. 8, 1943, to the late William and Adeline (Carlander) Heckel in Menominee, Mi., he graduated from Menominee High School in 1961 and served in the National Guard from 1962-1967. He had worked as manger of the Peshtigo IGA for many years, Badger Paper Mill for 20 years and returned to work at Lee's, formerly Peshtigo IGA, for some extra pocket change.
A member of St. Mary's Church, he also belonged to Little River Country Club, where he loved to golf. He enjoyed rides on his motorcycle, playing poker with his buddies and was an avid Packer fan.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Norm) Heckel-Pantti of Peshtigo; two sons, Bradley Heckel of Peshtigo and Brian (Mary) Heckel of Marinette; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Pam (Don) Horen of Hartford and Karen (Luke) Weinschrott of Appleton; a brother, William (Nancy) Heckel of Kewaskum; a special friend and sweetheart, Nadine Maymon and many nieces; nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, MacClain.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Church in Peshtigo on Thursday, May 3 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral services at noon. Fr. Jess Berdol will preside with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family with arrangements.
