Stella Marie (Bardowski) Horvath, 89, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Thursday, May 24 at Rennes Health Care Center-East.
Born Dec. 10, 1928 in Cedar River, Mi., to the late Joseph and Stella (Witort) Bardowski, she lived and worked for many years in the Milwaukee and Los Angeles areas. She married John Joseph Horvath of Stephenson in 1954 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2008.
An active member of the former St Annes Society of the Precious Blood Church, she also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 146 and was a life member of the Friends of the Library, Menominee County Library. She enjoyed reading, gardening and golfing, but above all, loved her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Melanie (Mark) Trowbridge of Goodrich, Mi.; three sons, John Thomas Horvath of Stephenson, Gregory (Elizabeth) Horvath of Menominee and James J Horvath of West Allis; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Gladys) Bardowski of Arlington Heights, Ill. and many nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Horvath; an infant grandson, Ryan Dominic Horvath; a sister, Rose Stone and six brothers, Walter, Steve (Mildred), Dominic, Julius (Lucille), Peter and Thomas (Merle).
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 29 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Precious Blood Church in Stephenson at noon. Burial was in Stephenson Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Mid County Senior Center in Daggett, Mi. or Rennes Health Care Center, Peshtigo, Wi.
