THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Mary C. Gocht
Issue Date: June 21, 2018
Mary Carol Gocht, 73, lifelong resident of Pound, Wisconsin, passed away in the late afternoon of Sunday, June 17, 2018 after fighting a terminal cancer diagnosis since October of 2012.
Before her illness forced her to retire, Mary worked for Saputo Cheese in Lena for over 25 years. Mary held multiple positions during her time, but the majority of her years were spent in the Distribution Department.
Mary had a great appreciation for nature and animals. She loved watching birds as they ate from the feeders as well as the rabbits that ran around her yard, which they called home.
Mary was the only child born to Edward and Agnes (Beissel) Kowalski, who both preceded her in death in 2013 and 2016 respectively. Her husband Duane Gocht, also, passed away in 2009.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Shanna Konitzer and her two children, Crystal and David. She is further survived by a second daughter, Wendy Badora. Mary also leaves behind her beloved chocolate lab, Reuben and the cat that entertained her daily, Lucky.
In lieu of flowers or other contributions, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. Mary's family would like to send an extra special "Thank you" to Bay Area Medical Center, specifically, Dr. Hamdan and the staff in the oncology department for the relentless efforts to provide Mary the highest quality of life and care throughout her illness. In addition, we would also like to thank the team at Woodland Village Nursing Center in Gillett and Heartland Hospice for making her last days as comfortable as possible.
All services will be private and held at a later date. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Coleman is assisting the family.
