Edna Martha (Falk) Garon, 90, a lifelong resident of Marinette and recently of Luther Manor since April 2016, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
Born Sept. 9, 1927 in Marinette, to the late Edward and Martha Falk, she worked at the former Marinette Knitting Mill.
She married the late Robert J. Garon on Nov. 29, 1947 at St. John the Baptist Church in Menominee and they raised four children.
In younger years, she enjoyed card club with her sister Irene and a group of friends, had an eye for decorating her home and created an appealing and comfortable living space.
She learned to drive later in life after her husband passed away. She had many adversities in life but always found strength to fight back, overcome and manage the difficulties she faced.
She loved her family and remembered and celebrated their birthdays and holidays with them.
At Luther Manor, she enjoyed a weekly card group led by her friend, Barb; watching the wildlife from her windows, attending bingo, visits from her pastor, crosswords and word searches and the company of fellow residents and staff. Her favorite treat was a trip to Perkins Restaurant for a Belgian waffle with strawberries and cream. She was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, John (Noreen) Garon of Marinette; Jeff (Jenny) of Stephenson, Mi.; a daughter, Susan (Ken) Garon-Berg of Marshfield; a sister, Irene Anderson of Marinette; three nieces; a nephew; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Thomas and Harold; a sister, Ruth; her husband of 42 years, Bob; a niece; a nephew and a daughter, Cathy.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Saturday, June 16 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 3 p.m. Rev. Christian Eisenbeis officiated with entombment in Forest Home Mausoleum.
