Betty M. Dettloff, 94, of Marinette, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Rennes Health Care Center-East in Peshtigo.
Born Nov. 12, 1923 in Menominee, Mi., to Ward and Vesta Renaud, she spent her early life in Marinette and married Raymond F. Dettloff on Feb. 14, 1941 and they shared 71 years of life together until his passing on June 30, 2012.
She worked as a nurses aide at the former Marinette General Hospital for 19 years. She was known as being an excellent homemaker and was famous for baking apple pie and sharing her home baked bread.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and was a Paul Harvey fan, listening to his radio program every day. Devoted to her family, she will be remembered for her joyful personality and enjoyment in telling a joke. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, now Grace Community Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruie Richardson of Marinette; two grandchildren, Chris (Jerry) Nelson and Chad (Michelle) Lindstrom and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy; a brother and a sister; a granddaughter, Kelly Janquart; a daughter, Talise Lindstrom and a son-in-law, Tom Richardson.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Tuesday, June 19 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Rev. James Wendt officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
