Shirley J. (McClure) Behnke, 89, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Tuesday June 12, 2018 surrounded by family at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay.
Born Aug. 11, 1928 in Marinette, to the late Ervin and Violet (Linger) McClure, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard "Dick" Behnke in Menominee on July 16, 1949. She worked at Carpenter Cook and American Rule and Block.
A stay at home mom when her children were young, she then worked at Team Electronics and was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. Her family was everything to her and she loved baking cookies for them. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and volunteered at Bay Area Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Richard of Menominee; a son, Peter (Mary Ann) of Green Bay; a daughter, Leanne (Jim) Camps of Menominee; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family received friends at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Friday, June 15 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Fr. Brad Sjoquist officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
