
Richard A. Strohm Issue Date: July 5, 2018 Richard A. Strohm, 83, of Peshtigo, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born December 4, 1934 son of the late Orville and Phyllis (Dionne) Strohm, he grew up in Lena area and graduated from Lena High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While serving in the military for 21 years, he saw different areas of the world with Pakistan as being his worst experience and England his best. After his career in the Air Force he worked for 18 years at Fort Howard before retiring.
He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed going to the casino, camping, mowing his grass, shoveling snow and sitting on the deck in the sun. Richard married "the best thing that ever happened to him", the former Bonnie Sandberg on February 4, 1995.
Richard is survived by, his wife, Bonnie; 4 step-children, David Gucwa of Florida, Cherlyn (Scott) Hanneman of Marinette, Heidi (Vinnie) Blake of Peshtigo and Kirsten Gucwa of Wisconsin Dells; 15 Grandchildren, Patricia (Howie) Delorme, James (Rachel) Schaetz, Anthony (Amber) Schaetz, Dustin (Fan) Schaetz, Evan (Jordan) Gucwa, Victoria Hanneman, Travis Schroeder, Rachel Bland and Zak (Holly) Blake; 10 Great-grandchildren, Hannah, Payton, Logan Delorme, Emmett, Jordan Schaetz, Joshua, Dean Fin (Gucwa), Danica Chase Schaetz, Harmony Schaetz, due in July and Lila Blake. Also survived by, sisters-in-law and spouses, Sally (Gary) Meunier, Lilly (Butch) Meyer and Carol Sandberg and brother-in-law and spouse, Don (Karen) Sandberg.
Burial with Military honors will be held Saturday, July 7 at St. Charles Cemetery in Lena at 11:30 am. Richard's family would like to thank the staff at BAMC and Unity Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
