Erek L. Belongia, 33, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018.
Born Jan. 21, to Steven and Deborah Belongia, he served as a volunteer Firefighter for five years and on the Oconto Police Department for seven years.
He fulfilled his dream by serving and protecting the community and he greatly enjoyed helping anyone he met. He married his college sweetheart, Amanda on Oct. 5, 2013 and loved spending time with his family, friends, puppy (Leon) and shooting trap with fellow police officers.
He also enjoyed working in the garage with his dad and will be remembered and loved for his kind heart and sense of humor.
He is survived by his parents, Steven and Deborah Belongia; his wife, Amanda; a brother, Tyler (Nicole and Henry); and two sisters, Melissa (Jeremy) and Jessica (Ken).
The family received relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home in Oconto from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2. Visitation continued at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Suamico on Tuesday, July 3 from 10 a.m.until time of the funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Judah Ben-Hur Pigon officiated with burial in Mill Center Cemetery. Donations to the Oconto Police Department are appreciated. Remember Erek with a smile on his face and a joke to make everyone laugh.
