Wausaukee Celebrates 4th of July

The Village of Wausaukee held their 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 7th. The fun started with a Firecracker Walk/Run with over 30 participants. The huge parade was enjoyed by over 1500 spectators and started at 1 pm. Leading the parade was the combined Amberg and Wausaukee American Legions. John Lundberg carried a rifle for Wausaukee Legion, Denis Dejarden carried the American Flag for Amberg Legion, Vern Schroeder carried the Wausaukee Post colors and Darryl Schmidt carried a rifle for the Wausaukee Legion and they rode in vehicles, followed by Grand Marshall Ray Gordon, Grandson Bowen and Daughter-in-law Jamie in Bob Barron's Firebird, many Fire Departments, political floats, cars, tractors and area businesses and clubs.
After the parade everyone went to Steve Stumbris Sr Memorial Park for a day of fun activities. Food, drinks, games and music provided by "Fossil" in the afternoon and " Daze 2 Night" in the evening, music paused for the most spectacular fireworks yet.
In the afternoon Wausaukee Fire Department took on Crivitz Fire Department in a Kickball game. Wausaukee beat Crivitz 15-1. There were adult and youth bean bag tournaments with many participants. Children had fun on the bouncers and playground area. The Parks department appreciated all who attend the day's activities.
