Plans Discussed For Silver Cliff Picnic
Issue Date: July 12, 2018
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary met on Monday, July 9 at 9 AM in the Town Hall. The majority of the meeting was spent discussing plans for the 41st annual parade and picnic to be held on Saturday, Aug. 12. The parade will start at 10 AM.
Fire Departments and community members and businesses are invited to participate in the parade. There will be prizes for floats. Call Paul Farley, Parade Marshall at 715-757-3922, with questions about the parade.
Community members are encouraged to donate items to be sold in the Country Store. Baked and canned goods, crafts and produce are all welcome. Items can be brought to the park on the morning of the picnic.
Al Walesh, Silver Cliff Fire Chief, told the group about the Fire Department plans for the picnic. At 3:30 PM, there will be propane burning training demonstrations, featuring various types of fires and how to extinguish them. There will be a kid's house set up with examples of different types of fires starting at 12:30 PM, at the Fire Station. Children will be able to compete with solutions of how to put out the different types of fires in the house.
The next meeting will be held on Aug. 6 at 9 AM at the Community Park. A member group picture will be taken. Members are reminded to wear their Auxiliary shirts.
All ladies, full and part time residents of the Silver Cliff area are invited to the meeting and encouraged to join the Auxiliary.
