Alvin D. Fetterly, 84, lifelong Lena resident, passed away Tuesday July 24, 2018.
Born July 28, 1933 in Wisconsin to Dennis and Rose (Brye) Fetterly, he graduated from Lena High School in 1951. On Oct. 25, 1958, he married in Germaine Tyrell at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. He worked at Senaca Foods in Gillett for over 30 years.
A lifelong member of the Catholic Church in Lena, he was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels at his home, hunting, fishing riding his four wheeler around the area and will be remembered as a master Booyah chef.
He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Germaine; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie (Mike) Mc Cabe, De Pere and Lisa (Roger) Whitcomb, Lena; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five siblings, Annabelle (Sylvester), Allan (Jean), Tom (Helen), Nancy and Tony (Carol) and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian and four siblings.
A Visitation and Mass will be held on Friday July 27 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 209 East Main St., Lena with Rev. Nonito Barra officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Lena. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Lena is assisting the family with arrangements.
