Doris Mae (Cota) Mileski-Engel, 90, of Peshtigo, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.
Born Feb. 9, 1928 in Menominee, to the late Samuel and Augusta (Schacht) Cota, she married John J. Mileski in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1984.
In 1991 she married Clarence Engel and he preceded her in death in 2017.
She enjoyed oil painting, crafts, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, flowers and gardening.
She loved chocolate, nature, watching the deer and birds in her back yard and was a good baker, but mostly was a good person who loved her family dearly. She looked forward to time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marinette.
Survivors include her children, Mary Poquette of Marinette, Paul (Robin) Mileski of Springfield, Ga. and David (Deborah) Mileski and James (Kristi) Mileski, both of Menominee; a step-daughter, Elizabeth (Dan) McLaughlin of Duluth, Mn.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, John and Clarence; a son,Andrew; a son-in-law, Gary Poquette; a daughter-in-law, Donna; a grandson, Timmy and three brothers, Samuel (Bud), Leslie and Robert.
Family received friends at First United Methodist Church of Marinette on Friday, Aug. 3 from 3:30 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 5:30 p.m. Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family with arrangements. A memorial fund has been established for Unity Hospice.
