Judge Clifford Patz Attends Trial Seminar

Judge Clifford Patz, Municipal Judge for the Northeast Wisconsin Joint Municipal Court, serving the municipalities of Towns of Beaver, Brazeau, and Pound and Villages of Coleman and Crivitz, recently attended the Municipal Judge Trial Seminar. This seminar was conducted by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Office of Judicial Education and was held at the Best Western Waterfront Hotel in Oshkosh on July 19th and 20th.
This seminar was one of several put on by the Director of State Courts, Office of Judicial Education. Attendance at one of these seminars satisfies the Wisconsin Supreme Court requirement that all municipal judges earn four credits of continuing judicial education each year. This particular seminar included many topics of importance to municipal judges and emphasized trial issues. Some of the session topics included The Rules of Evidence, Basic Trial Procedures, Courtroom Security, Taking and Testing of Blood in OWI Cases, Identifying the Elements of Common Offenses, Judicial Ethics, Update on New Laws and Appellate Cases.
