Two Men Die In Marinette County Crashes Monday

Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve, reported two accident deaths on Monday, Sept. 3. The first occurred at 2:46 am when Marinette County Dispatch received a report of a one vehicle crash on Highway 180, just south of Nettleton Road in the Town of Porterfield.
The investigation revealed that a vehicle was northbound, dropped off onto the shoulder of the road, veered left and traveled across the highway where it struck several trees beyond the south ditch line. The victim 25 year-old Tyler G. Walker who is from Crivitz was checked over by medical personnel but died at the scene from injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff's Dept. and Marinette County Coroner's office. Speed and alcohol are believed to have played a factor in the crash. Assisting at the scene were Emergency Rescue Squad, Bay Area Medical paramedics and the Grover-Porterfield Fire Dept.
This is the 6th traffic fatality in Marinette Co. for 2018 according to Sheriff Sauve.
An U.T.V. accident was reported on Monday, Sept. 3 at 3:46 pm. Marinette County Dispatch received a call of an U.T.V. accident with injuries on a trail that runs parallel to Highway C between County I and Parkway Road on the south side of County C in the Town of Silver Cliff.
The U.T.V. was eastbound and flipped over after going over a driveway. The victim was 22 year-old Logan Widucki, from Crandon, was ejected from the U.T.V. and suffered head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet or seatbelt. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Marinette County Coroner George Smith. A passenger on the U.T.V. survived the crash and was not injured. The passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
Assisting deputies at the scene were Wardens for the Dept. Of Natural Resources, Silver Cliff Rescue Squad and Fire Dept. Investigation continues into the cause of the crash.
