Linda (Grabczyk) Szymczak, 73, of Oconto, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 1, 2018 at home surrounded by family after a five year struggle with congestive heart failure.
Born April 12, 1945 in South Milwaukee, the only child of Sigmund and Janet (Brahmstead) Grabczyk, she grew up in South Milwaukee where she graduated from high school. In 1965, she married Edward Bornhofer and they had three sons. She worked at Lakeside Manufacturing in Milwaukee for over 30 years.
She later married Robert Szymczak and they had a daughter. While living in Milwaukee, she was an avid, good bowler and appeared on TV. She moved to Oconto County around 1980 and worked at Warvel Products in Gillett and owned and operated the Twin Pines Bar in the Town of Brazeau until retirement.
Survivors include four children, Bill (Kristi) Bornhofer, Sobieski, Bobby (Melinda) Bornhofer, Lena, Brian (Stephanie) Bornhofer, Shawano and Becky Behnke, Oconto; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a special friend, Mona.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a special uncle and Godfather, Sonny Brahmstead and a special friend, Walter "Wally" Krueger.
There will be no visitation or funeral service held. Jones Funeral Service of Oconto Falls is assisting the family.
