Fred W. Edwards, 81, of Suring, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018.
Born March 15, 1937, to the late Claude and Stella (Dortch) Edwards in Cincinnati, Oh., he graduated from the University of Cincinnati and then moved to Florida to work for NASA on the Saturn rocket project. He married Donna McCartney on May 6, 1961 in Cincinnati and they moved around the country while he worked on various government projects. He later worked at Procter and Gamble, from where he retired. He was involved with and proud of his work.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially time at Yosemite National Park, was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge, joined many lodges across the country in his travels, was a member of the Eastern Star and recently of The Mason Wood Lodge in Cecil (Masonic Lodge 170).
He is survived by his wife, Donna; three children, Robin Lane (Steve Strehlow) of Suring, Christopher (Michelle) Edwards of Gillett and Jennifer Edwards of Green Bay; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria (Edwards) Gomber; a son-in-law, Rick Lane and two sisters, Teddie Koerkel and Lola Wehring.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 1 p.m. until time of a Masonic Service at 3 p.m.
