Linda E. Nicklaus, 68, of Marinette, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 23, 1949, in Milwaukee to Cliff and Lois (Fritz) Muth, she graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She met her future husband, Ron Nicklaus, while vacationing in Crivitz as a teenager and they married Oct. 4, 1969. They enjoyed 44 years together with many happy memories at the family cabin in the Crivitz area.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Marinette School District until 1998 when she had a stroke due to brain aneurysm surgery. She fought back with a positive attitude and a sense of humor that were inspirational.
She was a devoted mother and strong role model and in the past few years she enjoyed weekend cribbage games, walks outside with her daughters, keeping up with her favorite soap operas and watching the bird feeders.
She is survived by two daughters, Laurie Groleau of Menominee and Amy Gallardo of Marinette; a brother-in-law Mike (Patti) Nicklaus; a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Dave) Makowski and nieces and nephew.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ron on April 14, 2014 and a sister, Christine Muth.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday, Oct. 19 at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 2:30 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. A memorial fund will be established.
