Lorraine Mildred Martha (Zeurn) Ehlert, 97, of Dunbar, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at her home.
Born Jan. 12, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., she moved to Pembine with her parents and remained in the area to raise her family. She loved her family dearly and remembered each birthday and holiday with a card.
She enjoyed hunting and fishing and held many jobs, with her favorite as an insurance representative for Bankers Life and Casualty Company.
She is survived by four children, Glen (Gail) Ehlert of Niagara, Kathleen (David) Groeneveld of Vulcan, Mi., Kerry (Kris) Ehlert of Beecher and Wendy (Jonathan) Marquardt of Dunbar; 13 grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ehlert of Milwaukee; a half-brother, Marvin Zuern; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Clara and Walter Zuern, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ehlert Jr.; two brothers, Norbert and Wilbur Zuern; a sister, Bernice Ruth Potier; a son, Clifford Ehlert; three grandsons, Glen Ehlert Jr., Cory Ehlert and Clifford Ehlert Jr. and a great-granddaughter, Lane Ehlert.
Private family visitation and service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Pembine with Pastor Gene Wickman officiating. Burial will take place in Pembine Cemetery. Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain is assisting the family
