Suring Secures Win Over Stockbridge
The Suring Eagles took a nice 51-34 win over the Stockbridge boys Thursday night in Suring
Suring took the initiative and fought hard for a solid 22-15 head going into the half. During the first half Suring's Josh Reed got seven points while Stockbridge's' first half was led by Sawyer Levknecht with nine points.
Over the second half Mitchell Stegeman found his stride as he plugged out 10 points. Caleb Lally posted nine to close the game for the Eagles.
Lally took top scoring honors for the Eagles with 15 points while Stegeman followed up with 14. Decquez Sepulveda chipped in nine.
Levknecht posted 11 for Stockbridge while teammate Jake Willett got seven.
Big Second Half Pushes Patriots Post Badgers
The Goodman/Pembine offense exploded for 40 second-half points on Thursday as the Patriots finished with a 67-48 win over their rivals, Niagara.
The Patriots led 27-24 at the half, with Caleb Nelson's nine leading the way. He would finish with 17. The Patriots had nine players score in an evenly spread-out offense.
Evan Metras had 13 and Stan Maluszczak scored 11, with nine in the second half.
Tristan DeJardin had 16 to lead Niagara, hitting four triples. Anthony Hansen had eight and Landen Kaldor scored 11.
"We got outplayed tonight in every facet of the game. They out-hustled and out-worked us," Niagara coach James Hoogland said. "The game was close in the first half. They dominated us in the second."
Bulldogs Use Defense to Collar Wolves 68-23
It was all about defense for the Peshtigo Bulldogs against Algoma on Friday.
The Bulldogs held the Wolves to 10 in the first half and 13 in the second, cruising to a 68-23 win.
The Wolves were just 8-for-42 shooting, hitting two of 19 threes, while Peshtigo was 26-for-55, making half of its 10 free throws.
14 Bulldogs scored in the game, with just one scoring in double figures. Cade Tackmier had 12 and Damon Jones put up nine to lead the way. Mitchell VanVooren had eight and both Trent Carriveau and Nathan Goneau had seven.
Tackmier added a team-high nine rebounds.
Algoma got five from Max Schoening and Mitchell Zimmer.
