Menominee went 1-4 at the Munising Super duals on Friday, beating Rudyard in the final match of the day.

The Maroons fell to Kingsford, Manistique, Gladstone and Munising in the first four matches of the day, with lots of forfeits hurting them.

Against Kingsford, it finished 46-12 with Menominee's wins coming from a Hunter Wroblewski (152) forfeit win and Seth Smith pinning his man in 17 seconds at 171.

It was 42-17 against Manistique, with only three live matches on the day. Menominee won two of them, with Wroblewski winning by tech fall and Seth Smith pinning his man in 13 seconds.

Gladstone beat Menominee 60-12. Menominee's two wins came by a Seth Smith pin once again, this time in 2:34, and Adam Conine being uncontested at 189.

Munising beat Menominee 54-12, with Smith meeting his match this time, losing by pin to Gabe Cole in 4:37. Aidan Smith (130) and Wroblewski won by pin.

Marinette Carries it's

Exposure Meet

Marinette wrestled at the Northern Exposure meet in Merrill over the weekend with a lot of heavy hitters from northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, finishing fourth as a team on day one and winning the fourth bracket.

On day one, Marinette beat East Troy 53-23. Owen Suennen (126), Isaiah Walker (132), Josh Walker (145), Sam McClain (160), Anthony Jardeen (195) and Darik McMahon (285) each won by pin. Reese Holder (220) and Sean Holk (170) each had decision wins and Sam Gressel (138) had a tech fall. Dakota Cuff (182) won by forfeit.

The Marines then faced a tough Bay Port side, falling 53-24. Suennen won by forfeit, Holk got a pin in under a minute, Holder won by pin in 5:39 and Shane Daigneault (113) had a three-minute pin.

Marinette couldn't hang with a tough Shakopee side in round three, falling 72-0 and the Marines lost 39-27 to Waukesha South.

For Marinette, Isaiah Walker won by tech fall, Josh Walker won a major, McClain, McMahon and Holk had pins under a minute and Suennen got a 10-7 victory.

The Marines rebounded to beat Two Rivers in the first round of day two, 39-38.

McClain got a pin to start things and both Holk, Cuff and Jardeen won by forfeit right behind him. McMahon and Holder got two pins and Jonny Bieber won by decision.

That moved Marinette into the fourth bracket, which they won with victories over Menomonie and Beaver Dam.

The Marines beat Menomonie 35-33.

Josh Walker won a major, McClain got a pin and Holk won 11-6 to get the Marines started. After a couple Menomonie wins, Holder pinned Will Otto, but Menomonie got six more points with a pin and forfeit at 285 and 106.

Daigneault won by forfeit, Bieber and Suennen got three points each and Isaiah Walker gave Marinette a four-point lead with one match to go, meaning Sam Gressel had to win or lose by no more than a decision, which he did, losing 5-2 for the Marinette win.

Marinette then beat Beaver Dam 38-30. Holk and Holder each had 5-2 decision wins, Daigneault won 12-4, Bieber won 15-2 and the Marines won the final six matches of the contest, with Suennen, Isaiah Walker, Gressel and Josh Walker finishing things off with six critical points each.
