Ardis Schwittay, 73, of Grover, passed away Friday, Jan. 18,2019 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay.
Born Jan. 8, 1946, to the late Edwin and Erna (Ewald) Zebuhr, she married Ronald Schwittay on Aug. 6, 1966 at St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Grover and they were together until his passing in October of 2002.
An active part of the dairy operation, she was the calf feeder, bookkeeper, kept everyone nourished, lawn maintenance crew, parts runner and babysitter. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Marinette County Farm Bureau.
She loved baking, reading, and gardening, was a loving, active grandmother, liked going out to eat with friends and enjoyed exploring the family heritage.
When the ranger was moving on the farm, she was in the driver's seat either looking for deer with her grandchildren, loading up garbage, delivering meals or grabbing a milk sample.
She is survived by a daughter, Michele (Dale) Carlson; three sons, Brian (Rebecca), Jason (Jenni) and Jeremy (Monica) Schwittay, all of Peshtigo; nine grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary (fiancé Irv Salamonski) Walker and Barbara Schwittay and special friends, Gordon and Kathy Klimek.
Among her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald and a grandson.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 24 at St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Grover from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 1 p.m. Pastor Luke Myslik will officiate followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brian Schwittay, Jason Schwittay, Jeremy Schwittay, Dale Carlson, Bryan Schwittay, Jaron Schwittay, Jenson Schwittay and Gordon Klimek. Honorary pallbearers are Matt Lemke, Melvin Gross, Doug Schroeder and Donald Kaminski. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo is assisting the family with arrangements.
