Howard G. Peterson, 70, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 at Aurora in Green Bay.
Born April 15, 1948, to the late Howard G. and Elizabeth (Leannah) Peterson, Sr. in Menominee, he graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1966 and attended college for a few years. He then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Menominee Paper for 32 years, retiring in 1998 and later owned and operated Pete's Walk In.
On June 26, 1981, he married Cathy Wakeman in Wheaton, Ill. A member of the DAV and VFW, he enjoyed Michigan football, the Packers, Brewers and golf.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cathy and a son, Jeff (Jennifer) Tickler, both of Menominee; two daughters, Laurie (Paul) Vande Ven of Little Chute and Debbie (Ryan) Ward of Green Bay; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson and a brother -in-law, Roger Schroeder of Green Bay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marylou Schroeder.
Visitation was held at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette on Monday, Jan. 28 from 2 p.m. until time of Military Honors provided by the Military 20 Year Club at 6 p.m.
