Laura Kathleen (Robinson) Hujet, 70, of Lena, passed away early morning, Jan. 26, 2019 surrounded by family.
Born Oct. 9, 1948, to Skip and Laura Robinson in Frankfort, Mi., she was a caregiver and worked at various group homes for most of her life. On Aug. 26, 2015, she married her soulmate and partner of 16 years, Jerry Hujet.
An avid card player, she also bowled on many leagues, going bumming and on adventures with her adopted children, Jon and Joan, loved life and lived to its fullest, but most of all loved time with family.
She is survived by her husband Jerry; a son, Anthony Rodriguez; a daughter, Amanda (Ben) Panzer; three step-children, Eric Hujet, Kurt (Kayla Phillips) Hujet and Jill (Dustin) Watts; her adopted children Jon and Joan Hanson; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, David (Andrea) and Charles Robinson; her step-mother, Nancy Robinson; her "partner in crime", James Marois and nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Frank; a sister, Margaret Allen; a brother, Andrew Robinson; a sister-in-law, Debbie Robinson; a granddaughter, Grace Hujet and a best friend, Carol Marois.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Lena on Friday, Feb. 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., with Pastor Mark Kostreva officiating. Donations can be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
