Louisa "Louise" (Race) Rowell, 94, of Oconto Falls, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at the Atrium of Oconto Falls.
Born Sept.16, 1924 in Little Suamico, to the late John and Louisa (Meister) Race, she married Charles "Bud" C. Rowell on Oct. 23, 1941 in Oconto and they owned and operated a sawmill in Morgan for over 30 years.
They enjoyed woodworking, making many rocking chairs and windmills and traveling across the state selling them. She enjoyed canning, gardening, feeding the birds, bird watching, embroidering and making quilts for her grandchildren.
Surviving are three children, John Rowell, Charles A. (Doris) Rowell and Ron (Linda) Rowell; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, and a sister, Alice Peontek.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Bud" a daughter, Charlotte Ratz; two brothers, George and John Race and two sisters, Laura Bergh and Lydia Van Lanen.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oconto on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Deacon Walt Kaszynski will officiatie with burial in Brookside Cemetery.
