THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Issue Date: February 7, 2019
Dean Peitersen, 76, of Oconto Falls, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Feb.14, 1942, to Ervin Sr. and Eleanor (Rhode) in Oconto Falls, he was married to Diane (Grenke) Peitersen for 57 years. He grew up on the family farm in the Town of Morgan and he loved farming. He graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1960 and began his plumbing career for 51 years. They owned and operated United Plumbing and Heating from 1974 to 2011. They then sold the business to his son, David and daughter-in-law, Lisa and he continued to work part-time as his health and time permitted.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved to shoot trap, hunt, fish and adventure out West. He enjoyed cutting, raking and baling hay with his family and on a hot summer day he would sit on the porch with a cold beer admiring his work. He loved his Harleys, touring with his wife, family and friends and was attracted to motors from riding or repairing old cars, snowmobiles, ATV's, lawnmowers, chainsaws, tractors and golf carts. If it was broke, he could fix it! He also enjoyed camping, country music festivals and making wood.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; two children, David (Lisa) Peitersen and Danna (Duane) Magnin; four granddaughters; a brother, Ervin "Bob" (Joan) Peitersen; a sister, Cheryl (Pat) Kelly; a brother-in-law, Roger (Dawn) Grenke and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Julius and Lillian Grenke.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 9:30 am until time of a Memorial Service at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 S. Main Street, Oconto Falls.
