Present Checks-The 17th annual Puncer Open bowling tournament fundraiser was held at the Center Bowl in Peshtigo on Saturday, Feb. 23. This year with the help of 65 bowlers the tournament was able to raise $3,300 for local charities. The checks were presented Tuesday, March 26 at the Center Bowl.
$3,300 Raised in Puncer Open

The 17th Annual Puncer Open Bowling Tournament was held on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Center Bowl in Peshtigo. The tournament is for women only and help to raise this year $3,300 for local charities, according to Tom Lund tournament director.
This year the tournament had 65 women bowlers with the top 5 winning cash and trophies. The top 5 bowlers included; Becky Wigman 675, Janet Parket 655, Amanda Larson 653, Rhonda Madsen 629 and Jo Ann Tipler 629. Places 6-16 also received prizes.
Organizations receiving money from the tournament this year include Peshtigo Food Pantry $2,300, Bay area Cancer Care Unit $700 and the Peshtigo Schools S.E.E.D. program $300. Tournament Director Tom Lund, thanked the Center Bowl and their employees for a great job. Special thanks to the Kathy Blowhowiak crew from Green Bay and Pulaski for all their help. Lund went on to say a big thank you to all the bowlers for making it a successful day and to all the sponsors in the Peshtigo, Marinette, Crivitz and Menominee areas for their donations.
The annual bowling event is always held the last Saturday of February.
