Alexander "Jim/Red" James Maxwell, of Owensboro, Ky., formerly of Pembine, passed away Tuesday, April 2 at his home where he lived with his son William (Billy), his daughter-in-law Crystal and their son Remy.
The oldest of nine children, he was married to the late Melodie Maxwell and was a loving father to eight children.
He is survived by seven children, Sheila (Darvin) Rickling, Shelley (Eric) Bastian, James (Jimmy), Shawna Kelley, Derek, William "Billy" (Crystal) and and Jennifer Maxwell; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a "special" sister, Janet (Brad) Feinberg, Lisa (the late Ron) Wilhelm, Alexander H. Maxwell III "Jock" (Karen), Diana (Jeff) Martini, his "special" brothers, William "Billy" (Peggy) and Robert "Bobby" (Audrey), George and Marilyn (Kenny) Berry and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melodie; a son, Kevin and his mother, Margaret Liggett Griffin.
A private ceremony was held at the Cardinal Cremation Society in Owensboro, Ky. A Memorial Service will be held in Pembine on June 15 where his friends and family can pay their last respects.
