Eleanor Irene (Cajlek) Gould, 101, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, under the care of Aspirus Hospice Services at Care Partners Assisted Living.
Born Dec. 15, 1917 in the Town of Beaver on her parent's farm with one sister and four brothers, to Frank Camlek and Agatha (Drobnich) Camlek, they immigrated to the United States from Yugoslavia in 1907.
She graduated from Crivitz High School and Marinette County Teacher's Normal School in 1936. She taught school at Peshtigo Harbor and Nappers Hills Elementary School before marrying Charles Elmer Gould on Jan. 22, 1938 and they celebrated 73 years together.
A homemaker and Welcome Wagon Hostess, she did charity work and also cashiering and accounting. In the Chicago area she worked in the office at the Village of Hickory Hills.They returned to Crivitz in 1979 where they enjoyed family, traveling and spending winters in Tucson, Az.
Much of their retirement was spent at their log cabin in Marinette County that they built from the logs they harvested on their property. Known for her homemade pies, she often brought them to Church activities or to friend's homes.
She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church and Trillium Chapter #208 Order of EasterN Star in Crivitz until moving to Wausau in 1996.
Survivors include two children, Kathleen Gould (Gordon Granroth), New Richmond and Neal Gould (Barbara Cummings), Wausau; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; a step-grandson and seven step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2011; a sister, Olga Froehlich; four brothers, Henry Camlek, William Camlek, Edward Camlek and Robert Camlek and two nephews, Robert Froehlich and Henry (Junior) Camlek.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Home Cemetery in Crivitz later in Summer. Memorial gifts in her honor can be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, P.O.
