RedBirds Soar to Win Over Reds

The Marinette Redbirds were not going to be denied a win last Sunday when they devoured the Pulaski Reds by way of a 11-5 readout.
A three run first in for the Redbirds really helps to set the tone in this match up as Jordan Powers and Jason Hofer got things going with singles.
Chris Lefeber hit a single next to score Powers while Scott Eldredge swatted a two RBI double to give the Redbirds an early 3-0 lead.
During the second the Redbirds continued their scoring ways when Blake Miller scored off with a single. Powers singled next while Hofer scored Miller on a gap hit for the 5-0 lead.
Pulaski hit a single run homer in the second.
The seventh inning saw the Redbirds increase their lead to 10-1 with a nice four run push.
Scott Eldredge led things off in the seventh with a single while Austin Belonga walked. Riley Hegg brought in Eldridge with a single while Nick Daye brought in another off a single. Powers ended the inning with a two RBI single for the 10-1 lead.
Pulaski merged to squeak out two runs in the seventh and two more in the eight, falling short of the Redbirds total by six.
At the plate Marinette was led by Powers who was four of five with three RBIs and two runs. Miller was three of five with an RBI and two runs while Belonga was two of four with two runs.
The mound win was taken by Marinette's Matt Eldredge who allowed five hits, one run and one walk while striking out two.
