Bonnie Jean (Carpenter) Theisen, 80, of Colorado Springs, Co. and Austin, Tx., passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019, surrounded by loved ones.
Born May 2, 1939 in Park Rapids, Mn., to Alice and Vivien Lee Carpenter, she was one of eight children and graduated from Park Rapids High School. She earned an LPN degree from Bay de Noc Community College and brought love and kindness to her profession. She worked as a pediatric nurse for many years in Marinette, caring for many patients and making lasting friendships. She was married to William E. Theisen on Nov. 30, 1957 and they were together for 47 years.
Her greatest pleasure being time with her family, she enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes to share with them, traveled to different states to spend extended time with her children and their families, was active and influential in her grandchildren's lives and will be missed.
She is survived by four children, Laurel A. Theisen, Joni L. Mueller (Dale), William B. Theisen (Sabine) and Jeanne M. McCarthy (Michael); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.
Among her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Theisen.
A Funeral Mass will be held at at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 5455 Bee Cave Road, Austin, Tx. on Friday, July 26 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bud Roland officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Two Inlets, Mn. next to her husband Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to the American Cancer Society.
