George R. Kobe, 87, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019.
Born April 23, 1932 in Calumet, Mi., to the late Joseph and Katherine (Plute) Kobe, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War and moved to Marinette in 1963. He married Katherine Kiley on June 27, 1970 in Marinette and she preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 2019. He worked at M & M Box Company for 18 years and then the United States Postal Service in Marinette for 13 years, until retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a lifetime Member of the Menominee American Legion.
Survivors include a step-son, Bradd (Anna) Yenor of Marinette; a brother Peter Kobe of Thailand; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife Katherine, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and a step-son, Barry Yenor.
A private Memorial Service will be held at Forest Home Mausoleum. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
