Stanley J. Havelka, 88, of Menominee, MI., formerly of Wallace, MI., passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at Menominee Health Services.
Born Oct. 20, 1932 in Wallace, to the late Joseph and Josephine (Kozikowski) Havelka, he married the former Marilyn Williams on Oct. 25, 1958 at St. Williams Church in Menominee. He farmed his entire life, a job he loved.
He enjoyed hunting and loved being outside riding his 4-wheeler, but most of all, loved time with his grandchildren. A charter member of the Menominee Ingallston Fire Department, he served for 48 years, retiring in 2003. He was also a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marilyn; four daughters, Corinne Krueger, Kristin (Ken) Rymer, Janice Havelka and Sharon (Ray) Johnson; two sons, Brian (Cathy) Havelka and Scott (Kristin) Havelka; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Delores Erickson, Evelyn Koutnik and Dorothy (Don) Wangerin and a sister-in-law, Frances Havelka.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley and a brother, Gerald.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek at 11 a.m. with Fr. Brian Gerber presiding, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery. Anderson Kell Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family with arrangements.
