
Jeanne E. CompeIssue Date: January 13, 2021 Jeanne Ella (Prochaska) Compe, 86, of Coleman, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
She was born on the family farm near Montana Lake in Coleman on August 8, 1934, to George and Ella (Lentz) Prochaska. Jeanne graduated from Coleman High School in 1952. She met her future husband Calvin Compe at the Klondike Church picnic. Jeanne married Calvin on August 28, 1954 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Coleman.
She loved her family and was a special mother to her 6 children. Jeanne was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning. She especially loved decorating her home and making it beautiful.
Jeanne was very active and loved to bowl and golf. She was a great hostess and enjoyed her card club and big family gatherings. Jeanne also helped out with the Ladies Ministries at St. Anne Catholic Church in Coleman.
Jeanne will be greatly missed by her husband, Calvin and her 6 children, Mark (Tammy) Compe, Pamela (Randy Champ) McMahon, Renee (Ron) Bergstrom, Bryan (Kari) Compe, Michelle (Becky) Compe and Gregory (Heike) Compe; one brother, George (Janice) Prochaska; one sister, Betty (Jim) Jashinsky; one sister-in-law, Gloria Keshemberg; 14 grandchildren, Christina (Lanny) Rogers, Sean (Kalynn) Van Ermen, Cassie (Santos) Salinas, Brooke (Chris) Morris, Calvin, Kylie, Heide, Natalie, Cameron, Callee, Sheena, Kayla, Kendra Compe and Kara (Jason) Sallgren; 2 step-grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Kane and Brent (Nick) Bergstrom; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Prochaska, just hours before she passed away.
