THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Polar Plunge at Badger Park July 25
Issue Date: July 22, 2015
The City of Peshtigo Parks and Recreation Department will host its first ever, and maybe last ever, Polar Plunge in conjunction with the "Christmas in July" weekend at Badger Park Campground, said Parks and Rec director David Zahn. He said Polar Plunge was added to this year"™s events because its doing a real polar plunge in January is just too darn cold for most people. And besides, this is a Christmas in July event.
The Polar Plunge will take place Saturday, July 25 at 11 AM at Badger Park beach in Peshtigo. The body of water is the Peshtigo River, which should be a balmy 80 degrees by then, Zahn added.
Participants may register the day of the event. There is no cost, but there is a waiver to sign. Sign up individually, or bring a whole team and take the plunge together! Winter/Christmas, or other costumes, are encouraged.
The public is also invited Friday night, July 24 at dusk for a Movie in the Park sponsored by the Peshtigo Chamber of Commerce. The movie is "Polar Express." On Saturday night, July 25, the public is invited to tour the campground at Badger Park after nightfall to view the decorated and lighted campsites.
