Louise Emily (Amond) Hohol, 91, of Niagara, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021at Emerald Bay Assisted Living in Hobart.

Born Sept. 4, 1929 in Niagara, to Anton and Exilda Amond, she was the youngest of 11 children and graduated from Niagara High School in 1947. She married George H. Hohol on April 23, 1949 and they were married 67 years before his passing in 2016.

All her life she was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara, where she was a communion distributor, lector, music director of the Children's Choir, Bible study leader, member of the St. Anthony Choir and taught CCD. She also belonged to St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women, where she served as president for 12 years.

She worked at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara for nine years in the Activity Department. She loved being with people, worked on funeral dinners, sang with the Smile Awhiles at nursing homes, belonged to Friends of Niagara Library and Karen's Food Pantry and also kept records as the historian for the Amond and Hohol families.

Her greatest loves were God, her faith, her family her friends and music. A loving, devoted person, her smile, loving and generous nature, and caring attitude will be missed by her family, friends, community and many others.

She is survived by five sons, Michael (Sharleen), Dennis (Kathy), Steven (Kim), Bruce (Paula) and Mark (Reneé); two daughters, Christine (Sherman) Demeuse and Kathleen (John) Schoendorf; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hohol and many nieces and nephews.
