THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
From Our Readers...
Issue Date: July 15, 2021
Dear Editor:
On July 6, 2021, the Marinette Common Council passed a resolution to deny the Town of Peshtigo access to city water via either extended water lines or bulk water, leaving the Town of Peshtigo Board of Supervisors shocked and disappointed.
The Town Water Committee met following the City of Marinette's decision and left with numerous action items to move forward without support from their neighboring city.
â€ÅIt is unconscionable to me to remove the City from a conversation before the discussion has even begun, however, we will rapidly move forward with remaining options,†said Cindy Boyle, Town of Peshtigo Chair.
Within just over ten weeks, the newly elected Town of Peshtigo Board has moved at a significant pace in an effort to be fully informed and appropriately positioned to provide safe drinking water to residents as soon as possible.
Chairperson Boyle expanded, â€ÅWe were starting from a place of zero resources, no municipal lawyer, no legal records on hand, no environmental lawyer, no environmental consultant. An enormous amount of progress has been made and our hard-working board isn't about to let up now. Communication between remaining stakeholders and the public is key and the Town is committed to staying the course.â€
The Town plans to move forward with a water summit, which will include Johnson Controls/Tyco, the City of Peshtigo, and the Wisconsin DNR.
Cindy Boyle
Chairman, Town of Peshtigo
Dear Editor:
As we witness a growing gun violence threat to innocent American lives we must find fast solutions. So today I am providing you with a peek into the mind of a deranged mass shooter. He arrived as a daydream one day while I was writing.
Hello! I am having a good day at the shooting range.
I am firing my automatic weapons with extended clips and wearing my bulletproof vest and also carrying several automatic pistols with extended clips in my ammo belt.
I am rapidly killing dozens of innocent American victims and their bodies are piling up. Soon I will shoot myself as well.
What are you going to do about me? Why aren't you defending them? These trusting Americans innocently thought that they were safe as they went to the mall, church, school, work, and restaurants. Your beloved family is among them dying and crying for help. Can you hear them? I don't. I only hear my wonderful gunfire.
Please stop me. I have lost my mind. Please don't defend me with your second amendment rights that I have repeatedly violated with military-grade weapons and gear. Please defend my victims. They need your help.
Hurry! I can't help myself!
Are you as horrified by this fictional character's behavior as I am? I think you are.
If so please contact your congress today and demand that they pass meaningful legislation that will end this daily mass murdering of innocent Americans and still protect your second amendment rights to bear arms.
