Dear Editor:
The second "Bakeless Cookie Walk", sponsored by the Friends of Wausaukee Library, was a great success! We greatly appreciate the involvement of so many in the community to support the branch library. A Hearty thankyou to all !!
We look forward to 2022 for the libraries' move to its new location in January and the return of several library programs! We're also planning to have the regular December cookie walk next year in the community center of the building.

A Shout-out to Some of My Heroes at Aurora Medical Center Bay Area,
I don't care what you think of Covid, what your position is on vaccinations, or even what your political affiliation or thoughts are. Above and beyond it all, I want to thank some of my heroes over the last few weeks, which includes those who daily cleaned the rooms, those taking x-rays and scans, those drawing blood for labs, adjusting the oxygen, providing meals, the doctors, and especially the nurses. They were there, in spite of snowstorms, power outages, and long hours. They came in the room with a smile on their faces and often worked above and beyond. These are some of the heroes I want you to know about. If you see them around town, thank them. God is restoring me to health, and He has used these heroes as part of that healing. Please keep them in your prayers. We are indeed blessed.

Dear Editor:
There's nothing like listening to beautiful Christmas carols to brighten one's day. The lovely voices of Abigail Nygren, Amy Linstad, and Katherine Linstad could be heard Sunday in the Grover Community Church as they sang many familiar Christmas favorites...Silent Night, O Holy Night, Joy to the World, and many more. Some songs were sung acapella, others had piano accompaniment by Kelly Diges. These ladies harmonize so musically, giving all those present an enjoyable concert, ending with a sing-along. Thank you ladies, and Merry Christmas to all!
Sincerely,
Jacki Hass
Editor, Peshtigo Times:
I feel compelled to respond to the Letter to the Editor from Alderperson Katie Berman that was printed in last week's Peshtigo Times because it was so filled with accusatory statements that are either deliberate falsehoods or clear evidence of misunderstandings of fact.
In the spirit of the season, I will attribute those statements to misunderstandings and inexperience as an elected official, and accept her statement that she does aspire to be the kind of person who builds people up and can unite the community.
To Alderperson Berman: Don't be too hard on yourself. You have been on the Council less than a year. The learning curve is in progress.
I agree there appears to be need for training for incoming members of City Council and for ongoing guidance on rules that govern public officials. Those are issues that we will address in the coming year. Training sessions are available through the League of Municipalities and other organizations that we can utilize. These issues include illegal walking quorums, inappropriate public statements and leaks of closed session meetings, consistency in decision making, and appropriate conduct towards city employees.
Alderperson Berman mentions several questions that appear to not have been answered to her satisfaction. I and the staff at city hall are always willing to answer questions that Alderpersons (or others) may have. Please do ask, and ask sooner rather than later, rather than let the questions fester. Stop in person, call or e-mail. Your choice.
We elected officials need to work together to keep our city moving forward, and repeated petty skirmishes don't help.
At Christmas, the theme is peace on earth and goodwill toward man. If each of us keeps the spirit of Christmas alive year round we can use our energy for progress instead of disagreements and work together to move Peshtigo forward in 2022 and beyond.
