Barbara (Koepke) Nowakowski, 83, of Milwaukee, formerly of the Coleman Pound area, passed away Saturday. Nov. 27, 2021.
Born March 23, 1938 in Milwaukee, to Arthur and Anna Koepke, she graduated from Notre Dame High School there. She married Gordon Nowakowski on April 23, 1958 in Milwaukee and they were married for 63 years.
They lived in the Coleman Pound area for 27 years and she worked at Drees Electric in Marinette for 24 years. After retirement, they returned to Milwaukee to be closer to family.
She was an amazing person to her children and grandchildren and a beloved friend to many. An avid reader, she also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but especially loved her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon; five children, Kenneth "Ken" (Dawn) Nowakowski, Richard "Rick" (Catherine) Nowakowski, Donald "Don" (Tammy) Nowakowski, Ann (Brett) Fraizer and Susan (Steve) Fordham; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a sister, Nancy Gleesing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Anna Koepke of Milwaukee.
Cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will be held in Spring of 2022.
