Born Sept. 17, 1953 in Menominee, to the late William and Zulema (Guzman) Evans, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1971 and married David Johnson on Sept. 16, 1978. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Menominee.
She spent over 30 years working at Lloyd Theatre and also worked at the Marinette Eagle-Star and Tempo Store, but mostly as the office manager for Diemer and Tupper Financial Services in Marinette.
Janet loved to knit, was an active member and officer of the Michigan Eastern Star, with memberships in Crivitz and Iron Mountain and also served in various offices including Worthy Matron. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by a sister, June (Jim) Toman; three brothers, John (Evie Gilenbach) Evans, Ray (Bonnie) Evans, and Jim (Judy) Evans; nieces; nephews; cousins and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Menominee on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 4 p.m. until time of Eastern Star and Church Services at 6 p.m., with Rev. Mark Laatsch officiating. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family.
