Lions Honor Melanie Cops as Student of the Month

The Lena Lions Club honored Melanie Cops, daughter of Tricia and Larry Cops, as the student of the month for December.
Melanie is a senior at Lena High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and band. Melanie is an active member of the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams. Her friends describe her as tall, ambitious, smart, funny, artistic, timid, dedicated, hard-working, and an animal lover.
Her hobbies are art, sports, and caring for animals. Her community activities include serving at church, helping to decorate the church, adopt-a-family, the toss for charity and a catechist at church.
Melanie's work experience is working as a stocker at Piggly Wiggly, a prep cook at Lena Lanes, and helps clean the church.
She plans to attend college to earn a degree in interior design and decoration and would like to play college volleyball.
