Wausaukee Town Board Names Engelmann Road Superintendent

Town of Wausaukee at their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 8, members of Wausaukee Town Board approved motions to increase Chief Election Inspector wage to $15 per hour and Poll Worker wage to $12 per hour, and to reimburse the previous treasurer $15 per hour for training.
Present and voting in favor of both motions were Town Chair Jeff Engelmann, Supervisor 3 Matthew Jicha, and Supervisor 4 Dennis Taylor. Supervisor 1 Bob Jicha and Supervisor 2 Brandon Taylor were absent. Others present were Clerk Cheryl Stumbris and Treasurer Hope Wesolowski, and members of the public - Bob Wesolowski, Bob Flaws, Phyllis Townsend, Kevin Wojcik,Chris Grove and Ed TenBruin.
Financial report showed balances on hand as of February 28 were $18,977.81 in checking and $573,230.13 in the Money Market general account. Vouchers were reviewed by all board members and approved.
Engelmann opened six bids for purchase of a truck. After discussion the board approved a motion to award the bid to Dylan Pries at $11,600 for purchase of a 2007 single axle Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD.
Engelmann opened applications for a Road Patrolman position. After questions and answers with the applicants the board agreed to move forward with a special town board meeting to review both applications and compensations.
Supervisor Jicha then made a motion to appoint Jeff Engelmann Highway Superintendent, which was seconded by Supervisor Taylor and approved.
Engelmann gave the tentative agenda for road construction in 2022. A bid request for Road Construction 2022 will be posted, with bids to be opened at the board meeting on Tuesday, April 19. There were no updates on 2022 Bridge aid.
Engelmann gave a short report on Wausaukee Rescue Squad.
The meeting had begun at 7 p.m., and was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
