Equity Club Announces Grand Re-Opening EventsIssue Date: March 28, 2022 Equity Hall, Bar & Grill is holding a week-long Grand Re-Opening and invites the public to join the celebration and festivities. Equity Hall, Bar and Grill looks a lot different than it did but a year ago. Back in 1914, a handful of farmers came together and bought a thrasher. Over the years, proceeds from the use of that thrasher went to buy property, build a meeting hall, a ballpark, a dance hall, and a tavern. It was but a dream of this small group of farmers in 1914, but that dream became a reality that still stands today. On Highway 64 in the Town of Pound, stands a property that is filled with memories of families, neighbors, and friends. Those memories could be from a wedding, polka dances, a birthday, a truck and tractor pull, tribute bands, smear tournaments, bar dice, a celebration of life or a graduation party.
The dream of those farmers was to make the property one for the community to always enjoy. Even today, Equity is holding true to those community centric minded farmers of yesteryear as these events are for one and all. One and all are invited to join Equity at the following events:
On Sunday, April 3, the former Coleman-Pound Lioness Club is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt for kids at Equity. Children and their families are invited to play games, make crafts, and get a picture with the Easter Bunny. There will also be the opportunity to make a personalized teddy bear. Food and drink specials will be available for purchase to enjoy. The event runs from 11 a.m. ?? 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 5, Equity will be offering food and drink specials for an opportunity to check out the delicious menu of food Equity serves. The kitchen was built a few years back and has been growing ever since. If you've not had one of Equity's homemade pizzas, this would be the day to check it out. The kitchen and bar open at 4 p.m. with food service until 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, April 6, Equity will be holding their first ever Weidemeier Wednesday. Equity is known for patrons playing dice games on Wednesday. The memories and laughs of the dice players are many. As a hat tip to some of our patrons of yesteryear, the public is welcome to come shake some dice and join Equity for the kick-off of Weidemeier Wednesdays. Chicken wings, shrimp and drink specials will be available starting at 4 p.m. with food service until 8 p.m.
On Thursday, April 7, the public is invited to join Equity when it hosts an Old-Fashioned Chicken Dinner. Back in the mid-1900s, Equity hosted many dinners where families and friends shared a delicious chicken dinner full of fun and laughter. Tickets are $10 and dinner will include 1/2 chicken, potatoes, vegetable, roll, coleslaw, and dessert. Tickets must be reserved and paid for at Equity Bar. Reservations must be made by noon on April 1. Dinner will be served in the newly remodeled Equity Hall. The dinner will run from 4 p.m. ?? 7 p.m. Orders for to-go reservations will be accepted.
On Friday, April 8, Equity will be offering a free Grand Re-Opening drink special with all fish fry's and shrimp dinner purchases. If one has not tried the delicious fish fry's or shrimp dinners Equity has to offer, now is the perfect time to stop in the soon to be newly remolded dining room to eat. Equity serves dinner from 4 p.m. ?? 9 p.m. on Fridays.
On Saturday, April 9, the Equity Grand Re-Opening week will celebrate with all day events. Starting at 1 p.m., the public is invited to join the North Country Kickers at a dance in the newly remodeled Equity Hall. The dance will end at 4 p.m. Starting at 6 p.m., Polka is back at Equity. LIVEwire will take the stage starting at 6 p.m. for a dance that all ages can enjoy. LIVEwire plays polka, country with a twist of polka and popular songs that all can sing along and dance to. Food and drinks specials will be available all day. This party is not one to be missed.
Equity Hall, Bar and Grill is available for rent for any gathering needs. The entire building has been remodeled and soon to have air conditioning installed for the first time in its 100 plus year history. Stop on in and check it out. Food is served on Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. ?? 8 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. ?? 9 p.m., and Saturday 4 p.m. ?? 8 p.m. Every day there is a different food special with a homemade pizza only being served on Sundays.
