Daniel "Dan" George Jacques, 61, of Roseville, Ca., passed away Friday, April 29, 2022.
Born March 6, 1961 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Francis "Bud" Jacques and Lynn (Behnke) Jacques O'Connor, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1979 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing at Northern Michigan University in 1983. He furthered his education at Marquette University in 1989, completing a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance.
A member of Saint Joseph Marello Catholic Church in Granite Bay, Ca., his strong work ethic started early as a paperboy delivering The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel morning newspapers and then continued in high school at the Journal-Sentinel office. During college summers, he worked at D & S Mold & Tool. After college, he excelled in sales for Nabisco, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer HealthCare and rose in the ranks at Ross Pharmaceuticals to become Senior Product Manager for Pedialyte and Pediasure.
He grew a strong business as a Financial Consultant for Merrill Lynch in New York City and later with MassMutual Financial Group in Sacramento, Ca. Recently he was in acting, as he loved entertaining others. An entrepreneur, he had many ideas in the works. He explored the arts including singing, photography, painting, drumming, dancing and acting and was recently learning French.
He completed four Ironman races and many marathons, including in London and Boston. His story telling would hook listeners in from beginning to end. He had a knack for planning parties, trips, surprise gifts and graduations, with his own college graduation itinerary down to the minute.
He loved 80's music, appreciated nature, took notice to everything around him, was an avid Packer fan and a proud American.
He is survived by two sons, Ryan and Tristan Jacques and their mother Dana (nee' Unger), Jacques all of Granite Bay, Ca.; step-father, Gerald (Jerry) O'Connor of Menominee; four brothers, Michael of Menominee, Gabriel (Judy) Hernandez of Appleton, Thomas (Tracy) of Green Bay and John (Dione) of Pewaukee; two sisters, Christine Del Preto of Holland, Mi. and Susan (Paul) Kraus of Howard and many aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; his paternal grandparents, Francis and Eldora Jacques; maternal grandparents, George and Jeanne Behnke and niece (Godchild), Gabriela Jacques.
Visitation will be held at Resurrection Catholic Parish in Menominee on Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., with Fr. Brian Gerber officiating. To further his Celebration of Life, a meal will follow the Mass in the Church basement. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family and will be live-streaming the Mass on their Facebook page, Thielen Funeral Home and Crematory. A private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee .
